What is a Humus Oasis?

A Humus Oasis is a place where Biocyclic Humus Soil is created and grows. It can be a small balcony, a vegetable garden, a farm or an entire village – wherever people stand up for fertile, living soils and healthy food.

The concept is based on the work of Dr. agr. Johannes Eisenbach and his team at the Biocyclic Park in Kalamata, Greece – since 1998 a living research and practice center where biocyclic-vegan cultivation is combined with permanently fertile Biocyclic Humus Soil.

Humus Oases are the centrepiece of the terra plena project, forming a network together – the terra plena Hub Network. Each oasis is a node: They are places of learning, gardening, community and soil regeneration. Whether hobby gardener, micro-farm, vegetable farm or school/gardening group – anyone can become a Humus Oasis.

Chapter 2

What is Biocyclic Humus Soil?

Biocyclic Humus Soil is the result of a multi-year refinement process in which purely plant-based compost is transformed into a permanently fertile substrate by growing plants and soil organisms.

The special thing: it maintains itself. Normal compost is broken down by soil organisms and must be constantly replenished. Biocyclic Humus Soil, on the other hand, becomes more fertile over time – because the plants themselves build stable carbon structures through their roots, the so-called Micro-Carbon-Clusters (MCC).

Plants on Biocyclic Humus Soil grow 2–3× stronger than fertilized plants, have significantly higher vital substance content, better taste and longer shelf life – without any chemical fertilizers or animal inputs.

Chapter 3

What is PCS®?

PCS® stands for Phytoponic Culture Substrate – a plant substrate made from particularly mature, purely plant-based special composts in a multi-stage process.

First, plant material is processed into crumbly, nutrient-stabilized quality compost, then a multi-month post-ripening follows until absolute root-friendliness. This maturity stage is not included in the usual compost quality categories (RAL I–V).

PCS® is the foundation on which Biocyclic Humus Soil is created. It is placed on raised beds and refined by plants over 5 years – until the substrate has become living humus soil.

What is terra plena?

terra plena is the name for the global network and project for the worldwide creation of Biocyclic Humus Soil. It connects PCS® producers (incubators), refiners (gardeners and farmers), soil curators (investors) and hub coordinators.

The special thing: terra plena creates a new form of economy where money is not created through exploitation but through the building of natural capital. The terra libra cryptocurrency is backed by created Biocyclic Humus Soil.

Technical terms simply explained

Biocyclic

From Greek: 'Bios' (life) + 'Kyklos' (circle). In the cycle of life – self-sustaining.

PCS®

Phytoponic Culture Substrate – purely plant-based special compost serving as a planting substrate without fertilizer.

Micro-Carbon-Clusters (MCC)

Tiny, stable carbon clumps formed by plant roots in the soil. The core of humus soil.

Rhizobiome

The community of microorganisms (bacteria, fungi) living directly on and in plant roots.

Refiner

Gardener or farmer who plants and tends a PCS® raised bed until Biocyclic Humus Soil is created.

Soil Curator

Person who financially contributes to the creation of humus soil. From Latin 'curare' = to heal.

Incubator

PCS® producer, i.e. a composting facility that produces PCS® according to terra plena quality guidelines.
